TarifaThe little town in the deep south of Andalusia is right in front of Morocco. It is in fact the southest city of Europe, literally facing the african continent across the small Strait of Gibraltar, only around 14,5 km away. This part of Andalusia where the Mediterranean Sea flows into the vast Atlantic Ocean is also called Costa de la Luz (the Coast of Light) and it feels somehow different: the sun is hot but the breeze is chilly, the winds can be very strong and the waves change from flat to big. The coast is in between gentle hills where bulls graze by the roadside and wind turbines replaced windmills. It is the paradise of kitesurfers but also families enjoy the vast beaches with white sand and dunes, and why not, also historical ruins.
